Biography:
Dr. Wei Zhang is a Professor and the Director of the Center for Green Chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Boston. His previous positions include Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh, Senior Chemist at DuPont, and Director at Fluorous Technologies, Inc. His current research is in the areas of green chemistry, organocatalysis, and drug discovery. He has coauthored 250 papers including three in Chem. Rev. on synthetic radicals and fluorous technologies, 6 issued US patents, and two books on green synthesis. He has been serving as editor and editorial advisory member on nine international journals. He received 2015 International Fluorous Technologies Award.

His laboratory, The Laboratory of Soft Materials & Green Chemistry, probes fundamental materials science topics focused on the green chemistry of renewable polymers. He received his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Florida for modeling photoinduced charge separation states of novel Rhenium (I)-based organometallic ensembles as a first order approximation of photosynthesis.

Dr. Lucian A. Lucia currently serves as Professor in the Departments of Forest Biomaterials (Wood & Paper Science) and Chemistry and as a faculty in the programs of Fiber & Polymer Science and Environmental Sciences at North Carolina State University. He began his professional career as an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Paper Science and Technology at the Georgia Institute of Technology examining the mechanism of singlet oxygen’s chemistry with lignin & cellulose.

Biography:
Dr. Muhammad Rabnawaz is a professor, educator, author, inventor, and entrepreneur. Since 2016, he has been a professor in the School of Packaging at Michigan State University (MSU). He has developed and taught three advanced-level courses for MSU students and two short online courses for industry professionals on packaging sustainability. He has filed over 45 patent applications and has been issued nine patents in sustainable packaging, recycling, and multifunctional coatings. In addition, he was awarded the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR) Faculty Laureate (2022), MSU Innovator of the Year Award (2021), the NSF Career Award (2021), and Senior Member of US National Academy of Inventors (2023).

She is known to demonsrate expertise in curriculum development, public speaking, program coordination, and leadership. She has great abilities to collarborate with other scientists, faculty, and students to ensure the advancement in science. She obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD focused in Chemistry from North Carolina State University.
